JoAnn Fussell, CFO and owner of Voice Link of Columbus, Inc., earned the 2017 Learning By Association Award from the Association of TeleServices International (ATSI). Founded in 1942, the Association of TeleServices International (ATSI) represents 350 of the most sophisticated TeleService agencies in the world.
The Learning By Association Sharing Award recognizes the many contributions members of the telecommunications industry make to one another on a daily basis. Recipients are well known within the community for their generosity of spirit in sharing the insight and knowledge they have gained over their years and for going above the call of duty for the benefit of the telecommunications industry.
When introducing Fussell as the recipient of the annual award, ATSI President Doug Robbins commented that recipients of this award are pillars in the industry. Fussell, Robbins said, “Having served as ATSI President for the past 12 months, anything I’ve ever asked of her, whether for general business guidance or help with association matters, her response has always been the same—’Yes,” and ‘I’ll help.’ Her perspective is always of value not only to me but to all of us.”
Fussell dedicated the award to her parents, who she said taught her the values of hard work and sharing with others. “My father would tell me, ‘JoAnn remember this from me. You can lose everything you own in heartbeat, but there’s one thing you’ll never lose and that’s the knowledge in your brain. Remember to share this knowledge with others, because in sharing your knowledge you will reach your goals even faster.’”
She reminded ATSI conference attendees that the letters in “TEAM” stand for “Together Everyone Achieves More,” which reflects her operating principle with her own staff and clients.
Fussell has also served as a board member, conference chair, and treasurer for ATSI, and speaks regularly at industry conferences. In 2015, Fussell received the ATSI President Award that recognizes members who have given tirelessly to the industry in a volunteer capacity. In February 2017, Fussell was also elected to the National Amtelco Equipment Owners (NAEO) Board of Directors.
With a background in Radiology and CPA professions, Fussell launched Voice Link 27 years ago in order to fulfill the need for advanced telecommunication solutions and call answering services, particularly for the medical industry. Since then, she has grown Voice Link to serve clients across all industries while maintaining a philosophy of delivering customer service based on customized solutions and personal attention.
